"Where did you go to School, Why are You Raising Your Hands?" Speaker Justin Muturi Lectures MPs

A relatively angry National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi was forced to lecture done misbehaving Members of Parliament on Wednesday morning.

While a special report was being discussed on removal of a government official Tabitha Mutemi, the MPs seemed not to follow the House proceedings.

The speaker had to remind the Members that the report had been moved and seconded and hence the Parliamentary procedures had to be followed to the latter.

"What's happening with house? Members have forgotten the rules of the House? That is a report which has been moved and seconded. Why are you raising up your hands? the question has to be proposed, isn't it, where did you go to school?"Speaker Justin Muturi.

A parliamentary committee has recommended the sacking of poll agency Communications Manager Tabitha Mutemi as a board member of the Media Council of Kenya (MCK).

National Assembly ICT Committee chaired by William Kisang (Marakwet West) made the decision in a report tabled in the House today.

This comes as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission last week said it was neither consulted nor notified about its communications manager Mutemi’s appointment as a board member of the Media Council of Kenya.

In a letter to Parliament, IEBC had said it would take action against Mutemi "at an appropriate time".
