The construction of the Dual Carriageway through the counties of Kiambu, Murang'a, Kirinyaga and Nyeri has been ongoing for sometime now. The work is not near completion but the percentage of work done is evident. Initially motorists used to take an hour or two from Makutano to Thika, this has today been reduced to 20 minutes using the dual Carriageway section which has been completed.
To enter in the books of record as among the legacy of president Uhuru Kenyatta development plan, the road is going to open business as well as link with the railway to Nanyuki which is operational after rahabilitation. The road has warmed the people of central Kenya, a lot which felt left out in development. This comes at a time when Uhuru near to exit office. Uhuru only has 13 months to leave office and usher in the next president.
In pictures the sections of road completed look amazing, there is traffic flow as opposed to when congestion was a norm and drivers were almost getting used to it.
