According to the Nigeria Air Force, Tolulope Arotile was Instrumental in fighting insurgency in Nigeria.
She flew her quota of anti-banditry and anti-terrorism combat missions to ensure a safer and more secure Nigeria.
On 15th October 2019, she made history with the decoration of the first female helicopter Combat Pilot, when she was commissioned as the first combat helicopter pilot in the Nigeria Air Force following the completion of her course at the Starlite International Training Academy In South Africa.
Little did they know that nine months after the commissioning, the celebrated intelligent and diligent pilot will be killed in such a regrettable circumstances?
The Flying Officer, Tolulope Arotile met her untimely death inside the Nigeria Air Force base in Kaduna, when her vehicle was hit unknowingly by the reversing vehicle of an excited former Air Force Secondary School classmate while trying to greet her.
“Arotile death was as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at Nigeria Air Force Base In Kaduna state,” it said.
The explanation given by Nigeria Air Force Base for the cause of her death is, however, stirring disputation among Nigerians, as Nigerians took to their social media handle to express shock and grief over her death.
Below are some tweets gathered to mourn her demise and also to request for investigation:

@blastedup said: “Imagine, they claimed the car on reverse knocked her down. Apparently, they wouldn’t tell us a car at top speed knocked her down because there’s speed limit to how you can run in any military base. This one didn’t sit well with me.”
@JacobsonBright1 said: “Very suspicious & shady, I’m beginning to see reasons why Nigerian soldiers are voluntarily resigning that appointments. How could that promising, untapped talented young lady just die like that? Somebody must come out with better explanations. Something is fishy about her death.”
@Ernestzoro1 said: “in as much that accident could occur unexpectedly, I think you should investigate this because I leave in Kaduna and I know how careful it is to drive and respect driving rules at NAF Base. This is painful.”
@emmybac said: “I honestly think there should be enquirer over the sad loss of the celebrated young lady. Accidents do happen, this should not just be accepted as usual accident. We can be less flippant with the sad loss of a national assets of this nature.”
What your opinion on this, should investigation be carried out or we should accept the loss as accident?
