German outfit Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Belgian International Thomas Meunier from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, Meunier has signed a four year contract with the German club. Meunier had been linked with a move to Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, but the 28 year-old has decided to join Dortmund.
Meunier will replace Real Madrid's Achraf Hakimi whose loan deal will expire at the end of the season, Hakimi has spent the last two years on loan with the German outfit, but with Real Madrid disinterested in selling the Moroccan international, Dortmund have decided to sign the Belgian International.
Meunier was quoted in an interview with BvB TV about the move as saying :'Borussia Dortmund plays exactly the football that I want to play: exciting, authentic and natural. BVB is known for their enthusiastic fans and the atmosphere during the game with PSG at Signal Iduna Park really influenced my decision. Meunier played 128 games for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 13 goals and providing 21 assists.
